Mason City Week--Computer Internet Scavenger Hunt 

Using the Internet answer the following questions about Mason City, only go to the sites that are listed in the instructions.  

Step 1: Click on the Internet logo on your screen, and then type in Mason City Iowa in the goggle spot and click on search. Click on the first site that says Welcome to the Mason City Chamber of Commerce. 

Step 2: On the home row at the top, click on visitor information and go down to Attractions & Events. 

**What is the theme for this years’ Band Festival Parade?(Clue-look for the green button)  *

*What is the name of two places (listed on this page) that you could visit if you were new to Mason City?  

Step 3:  Now go back up to Visitor Information and click on Parks & Campgrounds.  

**What are the names of three parks in Mason City where you might want to go and hang out with your friends?   

Step 4: Click back until you get back to the Google page with all the websites listed on it. Next click on the Mason City’s Official City Government Web Site, on the left side click on the Culture & Recreation.   

**What are the hours of the Public Library?      

Step 5: Go back to Culture and Recreation. Click on the museum. 

**What family of instruments is being played at the picture in the top of the page?  

**What day is the museum closed?     

Step 6:  Click back again until you get to the Google page. Then scroll down and find the Music Man Square Site and click on it. 

** What is the name of the person that the Music Man Square is built in honor of?  

**On that page locate the name of the professor from the Music Man play?  

Step 7:  Click back until you to the Google page again. At the top of the page click on Map of Mason City Iowa. On the map you will see a white box. Click on the x to get it off of the map. Use the mouse to move around and answer the following questions. 

**Name a town that is North of Mason City. 

 **Name a town that is South of Mason City.  

**Name a highway that runs the east/west directions.  

**What other town besides Clear Lake is located on Clear Lake.
